Qui, all’incrocio fra il bosco di Biancaneve e il rifugio di Buffalo Bill ne Il silenzio degli innocenti , immagini e suoni si fanno sintesi definitiva di una società cronicamente votata alla perversione, e la scelta di girare quasi tutto dal punto di vista della Lowry sembra voler avallare la necessità della perdita di una purezza di ideali a favore del profondo nero di cui si arma il 'nemico'.
